A few notes on the key advantages of self-petition green cards:

(1) Since green card applications do NOT depend on employers, your applications will NOT be affected even if you were laid-off and changed employers during the process.

(2) Since you petition for yourself, your decision to start a green card application can be much faster as a result of avoiding the wait time for employer’s sponsorship. The process of your green card application is your own decision that can be made much faster than a company decision.

(3) Self-petition applications often result in a more rapid approval and receipt of green cards than employer-sponsored green card applications.
