推荐信的重要性

As any immigration professional who works with EB-1 and EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) cases can tell you, having strong letters of recommendation from a diverse group of experts is critical to securing an approval on an I-140 Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker. We recently received an approval of an EB-2 NIW petition in less than three months. Although this approval is due in part to several factors, the most obvious reason for the speedy approval is strong letters of recommendation from very prestigious experts in the applicant’s field of expertise.
The letters of recommendation in this successful case came from leaders in the field, including presidents and CEOs of companies, as well as renowned professors and government experts, all of whom were able to comment intelligently on the applicant’s work and the impact of that work on their field. Furthermore, most of the experts who contributed letters on the applicant’s behalf were independent experts, meaning they had never worked directly with the applicant on a project or publication, but they were aware of his work through publications and because they had incorporated some of his findings into their own work. Independent letters from experts are perhaps the very strongest evidence that any applicant can supply to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) in support of an EB-1 or EB-2 NIW petition simply because USCIS recognizes that the independent expert has nothing to gain by offering a positive analysis of the applicant’s contributions to their field as would an employer or peer who may feel personally obligated to offer a positive opinion. Another important point to consider when contemplating your choice of experts is geographic variety – it is difficult, of not impossible, to make a successful argument that the applicant has a national impact on the United States if all of the letters of recommendation come from one state or even one region of the country.
